For various reasons, Sergey had been present on the Moscow stage for several years rather fragmentarily, and this time he got a second debut so to speak - expectedly strong and at the same time mature, solid and simply cool, as they said in the 80s. The modern author’s mainstream, a wide variety of tempo-rhythmic solutions, impressive dynamic contrasts, vivid interesting topics in which the movement of the melody is felt, and not just playing out harmonic sequences (as this, alas, happens too often) - all this showed the public a completely new Golovnya.
Despite the leader’s apparent unwillingness to look back at the tastes of the public, the quartet was received with exceptional warmth.
